The past few weeks I have been reading, and rereading, Influencer. It has helped me realize how changing vital behaviors can bring tremendous change to an organization. In my situation, changing vital behaviors in my school, might bring change in how our students learn and how our teachers deliver instruction. The end result should be that we create an environment where we can inspire students to be creative and passionate about learning, when they enter our classroom, and when they leave.
Our innovation is for our kindergarten team to use blended learning with station rotation. We are close to having 1:1 iPads and chargers for all our students in our district. Teachers also have their own iPad. We are on the right track, we just need to figure out how to best use this technology that is now available to us. With the support of administrators and my partner we can push forward with our blended learning innovation. The following shows the vital behaviors and 6 sources of influence to achieve this goal.
Vital Behaviors
· Show teachers how to implement blended learning with station rotation.
· Techers implement blended learning; they have experiences with blended learning.
· We review and share both successes and failures.
Measurement
· At weekly team meetings, we will show how to implement blended learning.
· At weekly team meetings, we will share our successes and failures.
· At weekly team meetings, we will explore technology and programs that will be used during blended learning.
