My original innovation plan is to bring blended learning into our kindergarten classrooms in order to differentiate learning. It includes a proposal to my principal, a literature review, an implementation plan, an annotated bibliography, and a video. As we move along the DLL program, we are having to stop and reassess our innovation plans and apply new things we have learned along the way. The best thing about an innovation plan, is that we get to make it better along the way. For example, to help my innovation plan move forward, I narrowed the research and my focus on reading achievement through blended learning in kindergarten.

I began with an Action Research Outline to map out my ideas and help me visualize the process. Mertler says that reflecting backwards on our professional practice, having the end goal in mind, will help the planning process (2020). After the action research outline, we moved on to the research. My literature review examines studies that used blended learning to improve reading in elementary.

The following is my Action Research Plan that includes my action research topic, purpose, research questions, design, method, measurement, and timeline. The goal is to help students become better readers through blended learning with the station rotation model.
