I began the DLL program in August of this year, in the middle of a pandemic, right before starting my 13th year in the classroom. I wanted to go back to school and decided the time felt right. Did I mention that I teach kindergarten, hybrid model, and have

a 6-year-old daughter? Yeah, it still felt right.

My first course Disruptive Innovation was with Dr. Harapnuik and I was introduced to the idea of having an eportfolio. He encouraged us to explore our options and look at different platforms to meet our needs as digital learners. When I was still not convinced, he allowed us to use Google Docs as our eportfolio for the assignments.

Next class was Concepts of Educational Technology. I enjoyed this class because we learned about growth and fixed mindsets. I am still a combination of both mindsets; it just depends on the situation. I currently teach my kindergarteners about growth mindset because I teach those foundational skills. Concepts of Educational Technology also gave me the opportunity to explore different platforms for my eportfolio. After looking at work from my peers and researching, I decided on Wix. I transitioned my work from Disruptive Innovation on to Wix and added my learning manifesto and blog.

Currently in my course, Applying Educational Technology, I have had the opportunity and the time to change up my portfolio and clean it up a bit. I want to really use the blog feature and so I spent time categorizing the blogs and adding drop down menu to navigate it by course. My goal is to use this eportfolio as my place to reflect and share what I am learning. I want it to be a place that reflects me as a person and shows my passion as a teacher and learner.

I wonder if I will use my eportfolio after I complete the program, I think I will. I think I will because it will simply evolve. It has already evolved so much, from Google Doc, to an actual website that is easy to navigate, in my opinion. I have been given the chance to have a space where I have a choice and a voice. I choose what my eportfolio looks like and I apply what I have learned in my courses. An eportfolio is something I never thought I would have, in fact, I held off as long as possible in my first course. I am excited to see how my eportfolio will progress in the upcoming courses and how I will change as a learner.
